GETTING TO THE EVENT

 

DRIVE

Participants are encouraged to arrange to be dropped off at the start lines and picked up from the finish line if possible – ask a family or friend! Alternatively you can drive and park at dedicated event parking sites where you can walk or connect with shuttle buses to the starting areas.

We encourage you to carpool and drive with your group to minimise congestion on the roads and car parks. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual and road closures will be in place before the events get underway. Remember to also allow additional time to park and walk to the start line. We advise you to arrive 45 minutes before the event start time.

12km FUN RUN

Use the public drop off area located off Peter Brock Drive or park at Sydney Motorsport Park Gate D, entry via Wallgrove Road, Chandos Road and Ferrers Road. From there it’s a short walk through the park to the starting area.

4km FAMILY RUN

Drop off or park at The Rooty Hill (Morreau Reserve), entry via Church Street from Rooty Hill Road South. From there it’s a short 10 minute walk to the starting area at Blacktown International Sportspark.

From the finish line at West HQ in Rooty Hill, the best pick-up area is West HQ car park (entry via Railway St only).

Shuttle buses will run back to both car parks from North Parade near the Finish area at West HQ. Please follow the guidance of volunteers and signage to the return shuttle bus stop – see the route shown in the finish line map below.

Please note you must wear a face mask when travelling on the shuttle buses and check-in using the QR code once you’re on the bus. A limited number of masks will be available but we ask you to bring your own.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Participants are encouraged to plan ahead and consider all the available travel options ahead of time as public transport continues to operate at CovidSafe capacities to maintain physical distancing across the network. Remember it’s mandatory to wear a face mask when travelling on public transport and you’ll also need to tap on and off services using an Opal card or contactless payment method to assist with NSW Health contact tracing.

The best train stations for connections to the start lines is Blacktown Station however please allow extra travel time as planned weekend trackwork is taking place during the event with buses replacing trains between St Marys, Richmond and Granville.

Rail replacement buses will run regularly to Blacktown Stations where you can connect with dedicated event shuttle buses to the 12km and 4km event start lines. Visit transportnsw.info for more information on rail replacement buses and to plan your trip by train.

EVENT SHUTTLE BUSES

Event shuttle buses will leave from Blacktown train station to take you to both start lines.

12km Service Times: 5:30am – 7:00am (running every 3-5 minutes)

4km Service Times: 9:00am – 10:20am (running every 5 minutes)

After the event make your way back to Rooty Hill or Mount Druitt Stations to connect with rail replacement buses to Granville or St Marys where you can connect with trains to continue your trip home. Shuttle buses to Mount Druitt Station will leave from North Parade, follow the guidance and directions of volunteers to the pick up stop.

Additional measures and staff will be in place around transport hubs and the starting/finish lines to safely manage crowds so please be patient, practise physical distancing while in queues and follow the directions of staff on site.
