West HQ, in partnership with Athletics Australia, Athletics NSW, Blacktown City Council and the New South Wales Government, is hosting a huge Finish Line Festival on Sunday 31 March 2019 to celebrate the running of Western Sydney’s first major running festival and community event, NAB RunWest.
Bringing together community, culture and the best the west has to offer, the festival will be located at West HQ and will welcome thousands of participants of all ages and abilities after they finish walking, jogging and running through iconic Western Sydney locations in the inaugural NAB RunWest.
The Finish Line Festival will be FREE entry and open to not just participants but the whole community, boasting a range of food, live music, entertainment and FREE activities to keep everyone moving, grooving and celebrating throughout the day. The festivities will commence from 8am onwards.
“NAB RunWest is a milestone event for Western Sydney and an occasion we look forward to celebrating with the whole community. We’ve got so much fantastic food, vibrant culture and brilliant talent, that we couldn’t stop with just the fun run – the Finish Line Festival means everyone can make a day of it, whether they’re kicking back and enjoying the runners-high and camaraderie, or just dropping by for a bite to eat and some live music,” said West HQ CEO, Richard Errington.
Sydney’s best food trucks will be pulling up to refuel and reward participants and spectators alike. The line up includes Satay Brothers, the burger legends from Chur Burger, Puntino Trattoria, Burnt Ends BBQ, with Duo Duo Ice Cream, Diego’s Donuts and Yum Thai Juice Bar for dessert. Stay tuned for more food trucks to be announced soon!
A lineup of homegrown music talent will perform live on the festival main stage, including the likes of Western Sydney singing sensation David Agius, Country music superstar Tori Darke and crowd favourite Dave White. Live music will continue inside Made By The Hill at West HQ with Melanie and Ben Bennett gracing the stage too.
For the young ones, there’ll be rides, a jumping castle, face painting and a petting zoo. Sporting stars from GWS Giants, Sydney Thunder, Western Sydney Wanderers and the NSW rugby league team will also be present to cheer on race finishers and chat with attendees.
