Participants in NAB Run West will not only be chasing their full potential, but helping young people across NSW to realise their own.
Funds raised from runners who choose to support the work of PCYC NSW will go towards the organisation’s Fit for Life program.
The Fit for Life program is delivered in partnership by PCYC NSW and NSW Police. It is one of eight programs designed to deliver the NSW Police Commissioner’s RISEUP strategy, which aims to connect disengaged youth with workplace opportunities.
Fit for Life involves young people being picked up from home at 6am or they are dropped off at a PCYC Club. Here they train alongside Police Officers, PCYC staff, community leaders, mentors and volunteers, before having a healthy breakfast and being driven to school.
Fit for Life encourages young people to get active in life, develop new relationships with the local police and PCYC, and attend school to be in a position to benefit from the employment pathways made possible through the NSW Police Commissioner’s RISEUP strategy.
Fit for Life has already delivered tangible benefits for young people across the state with increased school attendance, improved health and wellbeing and improved behaviour at school and in the community.
And with your support we can see this progress right through to the finish line and beyond.
