Support Western Sydney: Register now for the inaugural NAB RunWest

The inaugural NAB RunWest will take place on Sunday 31 March 2019, a running festival for all ages and abilities to raise funds for Western Sydney projects and charities.

“This festival encourages healthy living, and will showcase the cultures in the area, support important local initiatives, and drive economic activity and visitation to the region,” Darren Gocher, CEO of Athletics Australia, said.

Funds raised through the annual event will go towards CanToo, Better Foundation, Neuroblastoma Australia, Ronald McDonald House, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and PCYC NSW.

NAB RunWest will feature a 12km run and a 4km Family Fun Run and Walk through iconic Western Sydney locations, including the new Sydney Zoo, Sydney Motorsport Park, and Western Sydney Parklands, with runners and walkers to cross the finish line at West HQ. A Finish Line Festival will celebrate Western Sydney’s diversity, including live music, local sporting heroes, and food trucks.

“It’s going to be a real celebration of Western Sydney, and I encourage everyone to sign up,” Mr Gocher said.

Already, more than 6000 people have registered for the event.

West HQ is also pleased to announce today that NAB is the naming rights partner of the inaugural event.

“Having the support of NAB will help us ensure that RunWest provides an unforgettable experience for Western Sydney, and create a lasting legacy for the community for many years to come,” Mr Gocher said.

NAB sponsors a range of community programs and events across Western Sydney, and nationally, to support the participation of young Australians in sport. This includes the AFL’s Auskick and the FFA’s ALDI Mini-Roos football programs.

NAB Chief Customer Officer for Consumer Banking, and former NSW Premier, Mike Baird, said NAB is proud to support Western Sydney through this event.

“Western Sydney is a growing, thriving, and exciting region. We’re proud to support important local projects and organisations who make Western Sydney a great place to live and work, including events like the RunWest Festival,” Mr Baird said.

“RunWest is a great way for people to not only have fun, be active, and celebrate everything the region has to offer, but to support projects and charities which are so important to Western Sydney.”

Early bird registration for NAB RunWest is $20 per person for the 4km Family Fun Run (free for children under 5), and $40 per person for the 12km event.

Registration also includes a free ticket to the Sydney Zoo, and transport shuttles between West HQ and Sydney Motorsport Park on event day.
