WHEN DO REGISTRATIONS OPEN?

2020 NAB RunWest registrations open on November 21, 2019. Please note that availability in some events is limited so don’t delay your entry.

WHAT DO I GET FOR MY ENTRY FEE?

As well as entry to either the 12Km race or the 4Km Family Fun Run, your registration gets you access to all the on-course entertainment on offer during race day and an awesome NAB RunWest finish medal.  The Finish Festival will be hosted at West HQ and free transport is provided to selected parking and transport hubs.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Anyone and Everyone! Designed to be all inclusive, NAB RunWest is suitable for everyone from competitive runners to families with prams.  Jog at your own pace, it’s not always about the time; it can be about how much fun you’re having. Whether it’s the 12Km or 4Km event, walkers are welcome too.

CAN I ENTER MULTIPLE PEOPLE DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS?

Yes, any number of registrations can be processed in the one credit card transaction. If you register as a team of five or more each participant will receive a $5 discount on their registration fee.

CAN I ENTER ON THE DAY?

No, entries cannot be submitted on the day of the event.

WHERE DO I PICK UP MY RACE NUMBER FROM?

If you have not elected to have your race number mailed to you, race number collection will be at West HQ, 55 Sherbrooke Street, Rooty Hill on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Hours of operation will be advised closer to the event.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO COLLECT MY RACE NUMBER?

To collect your race bib, please bring a copy of your registration confirmation email with bib number which you should have received in March. If you have lost or never received your receipt, please email NAB RunWest and we will send you a duplicate.

If you are unable to attend, you may have someone pick up your race pack on your behalf. Please ensure the nominated person has your registration confirmation email with bib number and a text/email/letter from you stating that they can pick it up on your behalf.

You are not required to print your confirmation email with bib number but it would be a good idea to have a copy on your phone available.

WHAT ARE THE AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR EACH EVENT?

Both the 12Km and 4Km Family Fun Run are open to all ages. However all entrants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian for the entire duration of the event and the accompanying adult takes full responsibility for the safety of the entrant under 12.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE COLLECT MY RACE NUMBER ON MY BEHALF?

We recommend entrants collect their own race bib. However, if you are unable to attend, you may have someone pick up your race pack on your behalf. Please ensure the nominated person has your registration confirmation email with bib number and a text/email/letter from you stating that they can pick it up on your behalf.

CAN MY RACE NUMBER BE POSTED TO ME?

If you enter prior to the bib mailing cut off date, you will have the option to have your race pack mailed to you at a cost of $7.95

IS THE COURSE WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY?

Both the 12Km and 4Km Family Fun Run are wheelchair accessible. Participants in wheelchairs should enter and start from the last wave in each event. There is no elite wheelchair event or priority start for participants in race chairs.

I ACCIDENTALLY ENTERED THE WRONG DETAILS ON MY REGISTRATION. HOW DO I UPDATE THEM?

You can update your registration details at any time by navigating to the entry page and logging in with your original login details. At this point, you can change your personal details. 

I HAVE LOST OR NEVER RECEIVED MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL, CAN I HAVE IT RE-SENT?

Your event confirmation email will be important when you collect your race number. If you have lost it or never received it, please email NAB RunWest and we will organise for another email to be sent.

CAN A FRIEND TAKE MY ENTRY IF I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO PARTICIPATE?

Yes, entries can be transferred from one entrant to another. Transfers are only valid for the same event in the same year. To organise a transfer, please navigate to the registration portal where further instructions will assist you through this process. Please note transfers must be completed prior to the transfer cut off date. After this time, no transfers will be accepted.

CAN I UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE MY REGISTRATION BETWEEN THE 12KM AND 4KM EVENTS?

Yes, you can change your race. When downgrading your race distance, refunds will not be given. When upgrading your race, you will be required to pay the difference in entry fees. To organise an upgrade/downgrade please navigate to the registration portal where further instructions will assist you through this process. 

CAN I FUNDRAISE FOR A CHARITY NOT LISTED ON THE NAB RUNWEST WEBSITE?

COURSE RULES AND RESTRICTIONS

WHAT ROAD CLOSURES WILL BE IN PLACE FOR THE EVENT?

Road closures will be in place in Eastern Creek and Rooty Hill between 6am and 11.30am and reopen progressively as participants travel along the courses. While the courses travel mostly off-road using shared and private pathways sections of roads along the course will be closed for the safety of participants.

CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG?

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on the 12km course due to protocol around the Sydney Zoo. Guide dogs are however permitted on 4Km Family Fun Run.

CAN I RUN AS A SUPPORT PERSON FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS ASSISTANCE?

If you are running to provide assistance to someone who needs assistance (such as a guide), please email NAB RunWest who will provide entry instructions.

CAN I RUN WITH HEADPHONES?

We strongly discourage the use of headphones on course. If you do choose to use headphones whilst running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.

CAN I RUN WITH A PRAM?

Prams are permitted in both of the 12Km Fun Run the 4Km Family Fun Run and must start at the back of the field. Please complete the Accompanying Pram Section when registering to enter. An identification pass for the pram will be included with your race pack. If you would like the child to receive entrant rewards then you will need to enter them in to the event.

CAN I FLY A PERSONAL DRONE ON COURSE?

The use of any type of drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is strictly prohibited at NAB RunWest. Any person using a drone or UAV may be disqualified from the event.

CAN I HAVE A SUPPORT RIDER ON A BIKE NEXT TO ME?

No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.

WHERE CAN I BUY EVENT DAY PHOTOS?

Marathon-Photos.com is NAB RunWest’s Official Event Photographer. You can purchase your official NAB RunWest photos at www.marathon-photos.com. 

IS PUBLIC TRANSPORT INCLUDED IN MY ENTRY?

To ensure your event day experience is as smooth as possible, we strongly encourage all participants to utilise public transport, however, public transport, such as bus and rail, is not included in your registration.

NAB RunWest will be operating free shuttle buses between Sydney Motorsport Park and West HQ throughout the day for all participants. For those participants parking at Sydney Motorsport Park for the start of the NAB RunWest 12Km event, this means you can drive to Sydney Motorsport Park, enjoy all that the event has to offer, including the Finish Line Festival at West HQ and then be transported back to your car at Sydney Motorsport Park after you have enjoyed all there is to offer.

IS THERE A GEAR DROP AREA?

Yes, Gear Drop will be available for 12km Only.

If you have essential items that you will require post-race, 12km participants can drop items off at the Sydney Gymnastic in the One55 Gym on Level 3, West HQ, 12 N Parade, Rooty Hill, (adjacent to West HQ). Participants are strongly encouraged to consider what they leave at gear drop, and only leave item’s that are essential. NAB RunWest takes no responsibility for lost property so valuable items should not be left.

12km participants can also drop items off at the race start area, Sydney Motorsport Park on race morning (Sunday 29 March). Note that gear drop will close at 7:00am. After this time, participants must carry their items with them on the course.

AM I ALLOWED TO SET UP A MARQUEE WITHIN THE FINISH AREA FOR PARTICIPANTS TAKING PART IN THE EVENT?

Groups and organisations are not allowed to create or form a dedicated space within the event village for their group to congregate unless approved by NAB RunWest prior to the event. If a group is seen within the event site without an official event permit they will be asked by event organisers and security to leave the event site. If you would like to enquire about an allocated space within the event village for event day please email NAB RunWest.

AM I ABLE TO HAND OUT SAMPLES/FLYERS/PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL AT THE EVENT?

Under no circumstance can you distribute any samples, flyers, promotional material, or anything similar within the event village. If seen doing so you will be asked to leave the event site by event organisers and security.

HOW IS THE EVENT TIMED?

Your time will be recorded by a timing transponder pre-attached to the rear of your race number. Please ensure you firmly attach your race number to your chest and wear it for the entirety of the event.

Once you receive your race number, please ensure you do not bend or expose it to excessive heat. If you think your transponder may be damaged, please present it at the NAB RunWest Expo for exchange.

Your personal transponder will be activated once you cross the start line, and your finishing time will be recorded as you cross the finish line. Results will be available via the NAB RunWest website.

IS THERE A FINISHER MEDAL?

All finishers in the 12km Fun Run and the 4km Family Fun Run receive an awesome NAB RunWest finishers medal at the West HQ Finish Line Festival.

I'M PLANNING TO DRIVE, WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

SYDNEY NORTH / NORTHWEST:
Via M7, take the Wallgrove Rd exit and travel south on Wallgrove Rd. From Wallgrove Rd turn left into Chandos Rd and left into Ferrers Rd and travel north to Gate D.

SYDNEY WEST (PENRITH AND BLUE MOUNTAINS):
Via M4, take the Wallgrove Rd exit and travel south on Wallgrove Rd. From Wallgrove Rd turn left into Chandos Rd and left into Ferrers Rd and travel north to Gate D*.

SYDNEY SOUTH / SOUTHERN NSW:
Via M7 take the exit at The Horsley Drive, then turn left into Ferrers Rd and travel north to Gate D.

SYDNEY SOUTH WEST (FAIRFIELD /CUMBERLAND HIGHWAY):
Via The Horsley Drive then turn into Ferrers Rd and travel north to Gate D.

SYDNEY CITY AND EAST:
Via M4 and take the Wallgrove Rd exit and travel south on Wallgrove Rd. From Wallgrove Rd turn left into Chandos Rd and left into Ferrers Rd and travel north to Gate D.

WHAT ROAD CLOSURES WILL BE IN PLACE FOR THE EVENT?

Roads around the start site at Sydney Motorsport Park will be closed between 6am and 9am including Ferrers Rd, Brabham Dr and the Great Western Hwy. Roads near the Blacktown International Sportspark start site will be closed between 7am and 11.30am including sections of Eastern Rd, Rooty Hill Rd and Beames Ave.

The easiest way to access the 12km start line at Sydney Motorsport Park is via Chandos Rd and Ferrers Rd.  Take the Wallgrove Rd exit from the M4 or M7 motorways.

Refund Terms and Conditions

WHAT ARE THE EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS?

All applicants for participation in the Event – and where the applicant is under 18 years of age, that applicant’s parent or legal guardian – must read, acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below, including the warning, exclusion of liability, release & indemnity.  Where an applicant is under 18 years of age, the applicant’s parent or legal guardian that accepts this declaration in their personal capacity on behalf of the applicant and is expressly agreeing to be responsible for the applicant’s behaviour at the Event.

  1. Definitions: In this application and declaration:

    Claim
    means and includes any action, suit, proceeding, claim, demand, damage, penalty, cost or expense however arising including but not limited to negligence BUT does NOT include a claim against NAB RunWest by any person entitled to make a claim under a relevant insurance policy.

    Event
    means the event to be known as “RunWest” which – unless varied by NAB RunWest – will be held on 31st March at and through a series of venues which may include, but is not limited to, Rooty Hill RSL, Sydney Motor Sport Park, Sydney Zoo, Western Sydney Parklands and Blacktown International Sportspark.

    NAB RunWest
    means NAB Runwest Festival Limited and includes its directors, officers, servants or agents, and members.
  2. Terms of application to participate: I acknowledge my application to enter the Event will be accepted upon notification to me by NAB RunWest. I acknowledge that I will be bound by and agree to comply with such rules, terms and conditions as may be imposed by NAB RunWest in respect to the conduct and management of the Event from time to time.  I understand and accept that NAB RunWest has discretion to accept or decline an entry on whatever grounds.  I understand and accept that my entry is non-transferrable.
  3. Property: I am responsible for all property I bring to the Event sites and acknowledge that NAB RunWest accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to this property.
  4. Identity: I consent to the conduct of identity verification checks, background security checks and any other security checks (which may include inspecting my personal property) prior to my entry to and / or departure from any Events site.
  5. Rules: I undertake to comply with all applicable rules, regulations and by-laws of NAB RunWest and the Event as amended from time to time. I acknowledge and agree that these rules include the Anti-Doping Policy of Athletics Australia, which is incorporated into this agreement by NAB RunWest, and I further declare that I have not used any substance for the purpose of enhancing my performance at the Event and will not use any substance or procedures prohibited by the rules of Athletics Australia, the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority or the International Association of Athletics Federations.  Without limiting the above, I agree to follow, comply with and abide by all reasonable directions and decisions of NAB RunWest and Event officials / staff regarding the conduct of the Event.
  6. Withdrawal from Event: I understand and accept that if I choose to withdraw from the Event by providing written notice to NAB RunWest prior to 1 March 2019, my entry fee may be refunded less 25% which will be retained by NAB RunWest to cover all applicable administration costs.  If I choose to withdraw from the Event on or after 1 March 2019 or if I do not complete the Event, my entry fees will not be refunded.
  7. Variation of entry: I understand and accept that if I choose to change from one Event race distance to the other by providing written notice to NAB RunWest prior to 17th March 2019, I will be charged a $5 administration fee plus any applicable difference in the race fee.  I also accept that changes of this nature are not available after 17 March 2019.
  8. Cancellation or modification of Event by NAB RunWest: I acknowledge and agree that the Event venues, courses and distances are subject to approval from government and other authorities and, as such, may be modified by NAB RunWest at any time without notice to me. If the Event is cancelled or modified by NAB RunWest at any time due to NAB RunWest’s concerns for the safety of participants, a force majeure event, or any other reason beyond the reasonable control of NAB RunWest, I accept that my entry fee and / or any other cost incurred in order to participate in the Event will be non-refundable. In addition, I acknowledge I will have no claim against NAB RunWest for any loss or damage I may suffer as a result of such cancellation or modification.
  9. Warning: The Event can be inherently dangerous. I acknowledge that I am exposed to certain risks during the Event including but not limited to physical exertion, body contact with other persons, potential contact with vehicles, wind and weather conditions including but not only temperatures.  I acknowledge that accidents or incidents can and often do happen which may result in me being injured or even killed, or my property being damaged.  I have voluntarily read and understood this warning and accept and assume the inherent risks in participating in the Event.
  10. Exclusion of implied terms: I acknowledge that where I am a consumer of recreational services, as defined by any relevant law, certain terms and rights usually implied into a contract for the supply of goods and services may be excluded. I acknowledge that these implied terms and rights and any liability of NAB RunWest flowing from them, are expressly excluded to the extent possible by law, by this declaration. To the extent of any liability arising, the liability of NAB RunWest will, at the discretion of NAB RunWest, be limited to the resupply of the services or the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.
  11. Release & Indemnity: In consideration of NAB RunWest accepting my application to enter the Event I:
    (a)   release and will release NAB RunWest from all Claims that I may have or may have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my participation in the Event; and
    (b)   indemnify and will keep indemnified NAB RunWest to the extent permitted by law in respect of any Claim by any person arising as a result of or in connection with my participation in the Event.
  1. Fitness to Participate: I declare that I am medically and physically fit and able to participate in the Event. I am not and must not be a danger to myself or to the health and safety of others.  I will immediately notify NAB RunWest in writing of any change to my medical condition, fitness and ability to participate.
  2. Privacy: I understand that the information that I have provided to NAB RunWest in this application and entry process is necessary for the Event.  If the information is not provided, my application for entry to the Event may be rejected.  I acknowledge and agree that the information may be disclosed to third parties but will only be used for the objects of NAB RunWest, to provide you with promotional material from NAB RunWest or its sponsors or corporate partners (including but not limited to Rooty Hill RSL, Blacktown Council and Sydney Zoo) about events, products and/or services that may interest you, and for assisting with research and event evaluation (which will include use by the NSW Office of Sport).  I understand and accept that may advise NAB RunWest if I do not wish to receive any sponsor or third-party material.
  3. Commercial and other rights of NAB RunWest: I acknowledge the rights of NAB RunWest and any Event sponsors to use, without restriction, any images or photographs captured or taken of me before, during or after the Event. I am aware that I cannot display any advertising, or marketing identification of any sponsor that is in competition with any Event sponsors.  This declaration is not an automatic endorsement of the Event sponsors by me, but is to give effect to the rights of the Event sponsors to use images captured in conjunction with the Event, and also preclude competitors from displaying advertising or marketing information.  I consent to the publication and/or use in any form of media whatsoever of my name, race result, image, voice, statement or otherwise, including the publication of my name and/or event result and applicable age bracket in /or marketing materials/website without payment or compensation.
  4. Event entry information true and correct: I have provided the information required and signed or assented to this declaration where indicated. I warrant that all information provided is true and correct.  I acknowledge that this application and declaration cannot be amended.  If I do amend it my application will be null and void and cannot be accepted by NAB RunWest.
  5. Severance: If any provision of this membership declaration is invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, the phrase or clause is to be read down for the purpose of that jurisdiction, if possible, so as to be valid and enforceable.  If the phrase or clause cannot be so read down it will be severed to the extent of the invalidity or unenforceability of it in any other jurisdiction.  Such severance does not affect the remaining provisions of this membership declaration or affect the validity or enforceability of it in any other jurisdiction.
